Project and Program Grants

Capitol Region Watershed District (CRWD) seeks to assist organizations who share in its mission to protect, manage, and improve the water resources of the District. CRWD Grants fund the delivery of programming that increases resident knowledge of water quality in order to affect actions that will decrease stormwater runoff. In 2012, $42,000 is available for two types of grants:

  • Project Grants -- grants made to water quality organizations for new water quality education projects, events or outreach
  • Program Grants -- grants for general use and operating support, including staff time, for organizations with ongoing water quality improvement programs

Project Grants ($2,000 to $20,000)

Project Grants fund education projects, events or outreach for water quality organizations. Funding is by reimbursement for documented costs. Reimbursable expenses include project supplies, printed materials, stipends, plant materials, construction materials such as mulch and soil amendments, project signage, transportation costs for water quality education programs and other items agreed upon by CRWD. All Project Grant recipients must sign a cooperative agreement with CRWD to ensure satisfactory completion of the project and to specify reimbursement requirements. Project Grant recipients will complete an awarded project within one calendar year.

CRWD may offer to fund all, or a portion of the requested amount. Projects must take place in CRWD. Projects in progress prior to application are not eligible. All grantees are required to track and report general information about program activities and the number of participants. Priority will be given to applicants who propose to measure programming impacts on residents, for example, knowledge increase or actions taken. Awards decisions are made by CRWD Board of Managers.

Reporting

Prior to reimbursement, a final report form must be completed and timesheets and/or original receipts. If applicable, please include digital photos of the project or event in progress, or pre- and post-construction photos. CRWD will review the final documents to ensure that reimbursement requirements have been met. Reimbursement is made within 45 days after final documents are received.

Priority will be given to applicants who propose to measure successful impacts on residents, for example, knowledge increase or actions taken.
