Project Summary: The Capitol Region Watershed District values the efforts of individuals and organizations who support our mission to improve water resources.  The District's Stewardship Grant Program offers cost-share grants for projects with goals to improve water quality and decrease stormwater runoff; preserve native plant and wildlife communities affected by lakes, rivers, and wetlands; or create and carry out water quality education programs.  Examples of eligible projects are raingardens, rain barrels or previous pavement installation.

How it works: You may apply for a CRWD Stewardship Grant if you are:

  • A CRWD resident;

  • part of a non-profit organization serving in the District;

  • part of a government agency in the District;

  • employed by a business located in the District; or

  • affiliated with a public or private school within the District.

Projects completed or in progress prior to approval are not eligible for funding.  Call CRWD for an application (651) 644-8888.

Program Details:                                                                                    The project must be located within the CRWD.                                        CRWD reimburses project expenses up to 50% of the approved project budget, not to exceed$2,000.                                                       Applicants provide a 1:1 match of cash or in-kind services.                     Grant funding is on a reimbursement basis.
