Wetlands
Wetlands are a critical resource within the watershed that serve numerous important functions including: water quality improvement, flood control, storm protection, groundwater recharge, and wildlife habitat. Located in a highly urbanized watershed, the wetland resources of CRWD have had significant pressure placed upon them. Many of the pre-settlement wetlands in this area have been filled for development and the remaining wetlands including Sarita wetland and Willow Reserve in Saint Paul and Villa Park wetland in Roseville have been degraded to some extent such as being partially filled, drained or overtaken by undesirable plants.
