2026 Boulevard Rain Garden Inspection Training
Thursday, May 21 at 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
There are over 300 boulevard rain gardens in Capitol Region Watershed District (CRWD), and we’d love your help inspecting them. Your inspection information will be shared with the rain garden grantees to help them care for their gardens. Join CRWD staff to review the basics of rain garden design and learn our scoring and mobile inspection process.
Inspections are entered through a mobile app. Volunteers are expected to download the app on their mobile device and log in before this event. This information will be shared with all who register here.
At the training, staff will give a short presentation on rain gardens and the basics of using the app and scoring. Everyone will have a chance to open the app and do a test inspection. Staff will have project area packets for clusters of rain gardens. Volunteers will create teams, including a Water Steward and a Garden Education Volunteer. Your team will select a project area to inspect and share contact information to coordinate when you’d like to conduct your inspections together. The deadline to complete inspections is Sunday, June 21.
CRWD staff will review the results and mail inspection postcards to the homeowners. All gardens are accessible/visible by sidewalk or street. Homeowners will have been notified that inspections are happening via a postcard.
