Capitol Region Watershed District uses geographic information system (GIS) – a computer mapping, planning and analysis tool – to visually map and display spatially referenced information. The GIS technology combines database operations such as query and statistical analysis with the visual benefits of mapping. GIS can be used to help explain events, predict outcomes, and plan strategies. CRWD frequently uses data created by Ramsey County GIS and other state and local government agencies, but also develops program- and project-specific data in-house.

Ramsey County has an online mapping tool that allows the public to generate simple maps and query various pieces of information, such as property records and schools, in the county. To use the tool, click here.
